Francfort, Alemania.-El presidente del COI, Thomas Bach, dice que el presidente de la IAAF Lamine Diack llevó a su deporte “al abismo» al extorsionar a atletas para encubrir dopaje.

En una abarcadora entrevista con la revista deportiva alemana Kicker, Bach dijo que el organismo rector mundial del campo y pista enfrenta “un camino difícil» en sus esfuerzos para limpiar el deporte, pero que el nuevo presidente de la IAAF, Sebastian Coe, ha dado los pasos iniciales apropiados.

La IAAF ha sido estremecida por acusaciones de dopaje patrocinado por el estado de Rusia y una profunda corrupción.
